The Southern Region Minority Supplier Development Council (formerly the Louisiana Minority Supplier Development Council) was founded in 1973 to assist major corporations with developing, and enhancing their small business utilization programs with an emphasis on ethnic minority lead and operated businesses (MBEs).
The Southern Region Minority Supplier Development Council (SRMSDC) continues this rich history but we are all about doing things differently. Today, we are more focused on our regional economy by supporting diverse businesses through technology, regional D2D (Diverse to Diverse) & C2D (Corporate to Diverse) business opportunities. We are also developing innovative programs that help diverse businesses pivot into new business sectors. The SRMSDC is one of 23 regional affiliates nationwide and we are all about supporting people and organizations that are interested in supporting the places where we all work, live, and play.
The SRMSDC has over 89 large buying organizations in our network and this number is steadily growing. Our corporate members are made of local, state, federal, private and public organizations that have a commitment to working with diverse businesses.
SRMSDC provides the only nationally recognized 3rd party ethnic minority verification services in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. SRMSDC connects ethnic minority-owned and controlled businesses with corporate members representing many of America’s largest public and privately-owned companies. Leveraging over 45 years of experience in advocacy and ethnic minority business development we offer the following benefits of corporate membership:
